Welcome to the Dean Green Guide

Welcome to the online Dean Green Guide – a directory of goods and services from the Forest of Dean to help you contribute to a better environment.

Look through the Guide for local products and services, for examples of environmental projects, and information on how to improve your environmental footprint. We hope you will be inspired by the range and diversity of products and services available in the Dean.

If you’re a business, look in that section for opportunities on training, a waste exchange, courses for your staff, profiles of companies who have taken environmental initiatives and advisory bodies.

Choosing greener or more ethical options doesn’t have to be more expensive, and there are plenty of examples of how changing our behaviour can also save money. But in the end its about the future we want to leave our children.

It is estimated that The Furniture Recycling Warehouse is saving Gloucester City Council in excess of £60,000 per year on collections (not including landfill tax savings). Approximately 10,000 items a year are distributed. That's 60,000 items since the project began. Collection vehicles run on LPG fuel!
