A small group of registered growers around the country are supplying Demeter certified seed to Stormy Hall Seeds, a thriving mail order business which stocks a growing range of mainly vegetable varieties. A large proportion of its seed stock is however imported and farm seeds are yet to be produced on any scale. Building on the excellent research and seed growing work so far, BDAA would like to: - establish a network of farmers and gardeners willing and able to supply the growing organic market with high quality biodynamic seed - support research into varieties and plant strains most suited to organic growing conditions and to the unique requirements of different localities - inaugurate an ongoing farm based plant-breeding programme, using well tried biodynamic techniques - promote wider public interest and community involvement in plant breeding and the growing and saving of seeds.
